The number of new cases of Covid-19 diagnosed in the Murcia region in the past 24 hours has rocketed to 1,157, and only the over 60´s and vulnerable groups are being tested.
Yesterday statistic of 194 was artifically low due to the lack of testing in the 24 hours ending at midnight on Sunday but on April 22, just four days ago, the number of new cases was 792.
There has also been an increase in hospital admissions with the virus from 207 on Sunday to 258 in the last 24 hours. The number of patients in intensive care has increased from nine to 11.
Sadly, there have been two more deaths in the last 24 hours bringing the Covid death toll in the region to 2,241.
Calasparra remains at low risk of contagion with 11 active cases registered in the last seven days.
