The Calasparrian fruit and vegetable canning plant, Probicasa, has been bought by a French company , Andros, opening the door to new products and employment posts.
Andros have bought the premises, the business and the name with the intention of introducing new products such as strawberries as well as continuing with the current lines and the star product, artichokes.
Up until now the business, located on the Mula Road, was owned by of 40 members of a society. The new owners plan new lines of production which will ensure work all year for the plant with the prospect of creating emloyment in Calasparra.
The French multinational, Andros Et Cie S.A.S. has 25 factories in Europe and other parts of the world and exports to more than a 2100 different countries.
