Today, Monday February 26, at 12 midday, there will be a minute´s silence in the Plaza de la Correrdera, Calasparra, in tribute to the victims of the fire in Valencia.
Calasparra Town Hall also pays tribute to the fire fighting and emergency services for their work extinguishing the fire and rescuing the victims.
The fire, on Friday evening, swept through two multi storey blocks in Valencia in a matter of an hour. Thanks to many heroes of the hour the majority of the residents were evacuated. However, there were 10 fatalities, including a family of four with two small children.
The cause of the fire and the rapid spread of the flames whihc engulfed the flats are under investiagtion.
