The Met Office has issued an orange alert for gale force or hurricane winds of over 100kph as the storm, «Ciarán» approaches mainland Spain.
The population are warned to take extreme care from 9am on November 3 to midnight. From 9am today there may be strong winds between midnight and 3am.

The Met Office advises:
Remove any objects in the exterior of your property which may blow onto the street
Take in all sunshades, exterior window blinds and awnings
Close all windows and doors
Don´t go near any bulding or structure which could collapse
Extreme precaution when driving: strong hold on the steering wheel
Avoid crossing wooded areas or near trees

Although the storm «Ciarán» will be worse the north and middle of Spain the Met Office has issued a warning for North West Murcia, which includes Calasparra.
