As tensions reach boiling point over the modernisation of the irrigation systems in Calasparra and both supporters and opposition members become more entrenched the Mayor, Jesus Navaroo, is to hold a special liason meeting.
The Mayor says he aims to hold a “a constructive dialogue to avoid situations we have lived through and, in the future, we will regret.”
In a written statement he offers to be a “nexo” between the opposition Arevas and the Comunidad de Regantes to encourage dialogue and the flow of information “in both directions.”
Jesús Navarro also proposes a Committee of the two parties with technicians to “follow exhaustively” all the developments and work on the project which will take place from this moment onwards.
The meeting will be at 7.30pm today, Tuesday, in the Town Hall.
