The site of the old covered food hall, which mysteriously collapsed one night and has since been demolished, is once again alive with the sights and sounds of the food market.
Last Friday was the first week that the vegetable and food stalls of the weekly market moved to their new home in the town centre in a move to free up the movement and of traffic and make cleanin g up after the market easier. It was a cold, windy day and most stallholders reported a poor trade but agreed, that after a chaotic start when no-one knew where they should be, it was generally a good move.
The Plaza de los Abastos will be a free car park during the week but will be the regular site for the vegetable and food stalls of Calasparra´s Friday´s market.
