The Local Police of Calasparra have increased controls on electric scooters and have taken a dozen out of circulation for failing to comply with the new regulations over the last week.
The vehicles confiscated can be returned to their owners once they have indicated that the scooter complies with the new legal requirements.
These requirements include obligatory civil insurance, registering the vehicle with the DGT and obtaining a certificate of circulation when required by the new laws.
Local Police will continue to increase these types of controls which are designed to reinforce road safety, guarantee that laws are respected and promote the the safety of pedestrians, drivers and those who use electric scooters.
