Calasparrian, Ángel Rodríguez García, ex Band of Music member, has been awarded one of the Extraordinary Prizes of Professional Artistic Teaching (Premios Extraordinarios de Enseñanzas Artísticas Profesionales), for the school year 2016-2017.
The prize is in the gift of the regional Department of Education, Youth and Sports and is awarded to best performance in the conservatory.
Ángel Rodríguez García, born in Calasparra, has already obtained the first prize in the V Edition for Young Musicians Villa de Molina, 2017, and first prize in the XX Edition of the Competition ‘Entre Cuerdas y Metales de la Región de Murcia’ (Strings and Metal). He is currently preparing for the entrance exam for the Superior Conservatory OKHO in Madrid.
During 2017-2018 he has been teaching professional artistic interpretation to almost 2.700 students in the región, 97% of which are in the public sector.
Ángel Rodríguez García, 19 years old, began his studies at the local Music School and was a member of the Association Band of Music.
At 12 years old he entered the Music Conservatory in Caravaca where he gained an honours.
He has played with Students¨Band of the Music Conservatory in Murcia; the Symphonic Band of Murcia; the Youth Orchestra of the region, and the Symphonic Band of the Conservatory of Caravaca.
