Local firemen and environmental officers are in action in Los Alcazares, rescuing flood victims and helping with the clean up.
Los Alcazares is one of the worst affected areas in the Murcia region: hundreds have lost everything and/or have been evacuated. The houses, streets , shops and businesses are a mud bath.
It is estimated the damage will run into many millions of euros and the regional government has applied for the area to be declared a «disaster zone.»
Local services, such as the fire brigade and the environmental plus volunteers from the Civil Protection and forestry officers plus volunteers from the Civil Protection, local councillors and some residents are already helping out in the area.
