Calasparra may lose the Consumer Rights Office (OMIC) if national legislation to reform local administrations goes through Parliament acording to Maria Dolores Gomariz, the Head of the local Consumer Department.
According to Ms Gomariz the defence of the consumer will not fall within the remit of the Town Hall if the legislation succeeds leaving residents without support and representation.
OMIC received 1.345 consultations and complaints during 2013: 163 were taken up with written representations and 1,182 were resolved through mediation.
