The river beach in Calasparra is one of six in the region to have a Life Guards and Life Savers Unit in attendance from July 1 to August 31.
Other river beaches with the service are in Abarán, Archena, Bullas, Calasparra, Lorca and Mula.
There will aloso be a similar service on 89 beaches in the region.
The river beach in Calasparra is below the road bridge and 100 yards down river from the Municipal Canoe Club.
