Planting a tree, watering it and looking after it: this was the task for fifth year pupils from local primary schgools and first years from the High School for World Day of the Environment on Wednesday.
The Reforestation Day formed part of a programme of the Education and Health Department at the Town Hall which aims to bring pupils closer to the environment.
The children dug, sowed, planted and watered traditional plants and trees and have committed to caring for them in the future in order to improve the natural surroundings.
