Drought was officially declared this week in the region of Murcia after months and months without rain, reducing reserves in the reservoirs and threatening wildlife and stock animals.
Emergency action by Calasparra Town Hall, the Enviromental Agency and Club Alpino to replenish drinking holes in the ZEPA zones of the Molino, Quipar and Llanos de Cagitan aims to provide water for stock animals and safgeguard the toads breeding areas(see photo).
Let´s hope the rain forecast for the region materialises over the next couple of few days!!
