The United Left Party of Calasparra (IU) has criticized the governing party for cancelling the monthly meeting of the Town Hall in September and for the delay in producing the municipal budget.
“Finally we will have a council meeting and a debate on the budget,” said Coordinator of the IU, Ricardo Garcia, at a Press Conference held last night.
The IU has repeatedly complained about the delay in producing this year´s budget and the creation of a “nursery” for businesses, a technical project which now may not start work until next year.
The double drama of the funding cut to the North West Murcia Social Services Department, which will affect users and workers alike, was underlined by Ricardo Garcia. The regional government has cut the one million euro funding leaving the service with funds for another four months.
At the end of the Press Conference the IU called on residents to support the regional and national public protests organized against the cuts.
