The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for high winds in the North West region of Murcia, which includes Calasparra.
Winds could reach up to 80 kph, according to the warning which came into effect at 7am this morning, Friday February 23, and lasts until 6pm this evening.
Temperatures have fallen by eight degrees to around 20C, still warm for February, but the wind chill may make it feel colder.
Readers are advised to bring inside any object that may cause damage to property or people if blown by the wind and to stay away from trees and any construction which may collapse.
