The end of the summer season has brought an increase in the number of unemployed people in Calasparra during September.
According to figures released by the Office of Employment and Social Security there were 67 more unemployed people in September compared to the previous month.
In August there were 1,206 people signing on compared to 1,273 in September. Of these 712 came from the services sector; 217 from agriculture; 178 from the construction sector; and 145 from industry.
The majority of people without work are aged between 25 to 44 years (656) although 469 people over 49 years old also registered as unemployed.
Some 720 of the total number of the local unemployed have
completed their statutory studies.
Nationally unemployment rose by 79,645 with more than 4.7 million people without work.
