HOTTEST APRIL SINCE 1941

Readers probably don´t need reminding that this has been a hot, hot April, in fact, it has beaten records over the last 74 years recording temperatures of nearly four degrees above the average.
The Murcia regin has not registered such high temepratures throughout April since 1941 with an average of 17.9 degrees. The average maximums have been 24.8 degrees which is nearly five degrees above the average for the month although overall they registered nearly four degrees more than usual. There were six days when we sweltered as the thermometer registered more than 30 degrees.
As for the rain as the April showers deserted us the region registered 39% less than the average rainfall and this year goes down as one of the 15th driest Aprils since 1941.
