There will be a guided visit to the antique Islamic alqueria in Calasparra, considered one of the most important late medieval enclaves in Spain.
The Villa Vieja site is in the north of Calasparra and south of the Segura river.
The settlement dates back to XII and XIII centuries. The excavations have uncovered houses, walls, pits and towers and an abundance of ceramic material.
The Intepretation Centre has recreated an Islamic house with a central patio, latrine, stable and kitchen and exhibits material discovered at the dig as well as plans of the site.
The visit will be on Saturday March 21 at 20.30am.
