The EU proposed that all member states introduce measures to cut energy consumption by 15% due to high energy prices and the risk that Russia will cut off supplies as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.
However, Spain has negotiated a 7% cut as its dependency on Russian gas is considerably less than most other member states; because it has adequate reserves of gas; and because of the increase in production of clean energies such as solar.
In order to achieve this 7% reduction the Government proposes that administrative, commercial and cultural buildings as well as the transport infrastructures…..
Maintain temperatures of heating and refrigeration at 19 and 27 degrees centigrade respectively
Do not leave doors of shops, stores and buildings open
Switch off lighting in shop windows at 10pm
Inspect heaters and thermic installations (if the last inspection was last January)
