The Ruta del Fuentes (natural springs) relates the history of Calasparra and the priorities of the moment which centred around the Esparta grass industry and the exploitation of the salt mines.
During the walk you will see significant contrasts in the landscapes and different tones of the earth at various points along the path, including the Coloroas (coloured) where the predominant tone is red.
A walk of contrasts with water as the protagonist in three enclaves along the way: the legendary springs of Morcillo, Llano and Cobre and also includes a footpath along the banks of the Rambla de los Arcos and the monumental acueduct, which has been witness to many historic episodes in Calasparra.
The walk is on Sunday November 27 and walkers should meet outside the Joyman Cafeteria at 9am.
Numbers are limited to 30 and booking is essential (at the Tourist Office). Walkers will go to the starting point of the walk by car.
The walk is appromimately 14.32K and should take around four hours and fiftenn minutes. It is graded as easy and is suitable for children.
