The Municipal Canoe Club is holding four days of events and competitions starting this Thursday in the local swimming pool and ending with a Grand Raft Ride down the River Segura on Sunday.
A Kayak Polo Competition in the Municipal Swimming Pool on Thursday night at 9.30pm kicks off the festivities with teams invited from all over the region. Spectators are welcome.
On Friday at the same time in the Municipal Swimming Pool there will be a competition of Eskimo Rolls. Not for the faint hearted and good spectator sport!
On Saturday morning at 10am the Canoe Club will take to the river for a day of canoe and kayak races when the VIII Murcian Cup of White Water Slalom is celebrated in Calasparra.
On Sunday morning everyone is invited to come down to the club´s Open Day, see the club´s premises and meet the club members. There will be a grand raft ride down the River Segura in inflatable dingies and anyone, young or older, is welcome to take part. The day will end with the traditional paella and refreshments.
Please come and support Calasparra´s plucky young canoeists who represent the best of the our youth and travel all over Spain competing in the national trials.
