During the last week there has been a 50% fall in the number of Covid and Flu cases in the and a 35% decrease in the number of severe rspiratory infections.
These statistics were released by the System of Vigilance for Primary Care for the period January 15 to 21.
During last week there were 481 less cases of coronavirus; 2,060 less cases of flu; and 777 less cases of acute rspiratory infection.
Masks were made obligatory in all medical centres and hospitals nationally from January 6, but this obligation will be eliminated if this fall in cases continues for another week.
Pressure on hospitals in the region has also eased.
