Readers travelling to Murcia, and other areas including Toledo and Portugal, are warned that roads are being blocked by the farmers’ protest and in some places traffic has been stopped completely.
The protest is not supported by any of the Farmers’ Unions or Associations but has been organised by individual farmers responding to a call on Whatsapp and is considered «illegal».
The A-30 at the Puerto de la Cacdena is blocked in both directions and the access to the Escombreras Industrial Estate is blocked.
The MU30 (Murcia-Mula) road from the A30 has been blocked and anyone wanting to access the Alcantarilla Industrial Estate must exit the motorway at El Palmer.
There are also farmers protesting with tractors between Barranda and Lorca, in the Lorqui Industrial Estate and the extension to Archena.
The procession of tractors passed through Calasparra yesterday.
The farmers are using their tractors to block roads and access to strategic areas all day and night and so far have not called off the protest. If you are travelling check that your route is clear in order to seek an alternative route.
