Ex-Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, who is currently the Government Delegate in Murcia, will stand as candidate for the post of General Secretary of the regional Socialist (PSOE) Party.
The elections, “known as primaries” will be on November 20 and follow the resignation of the current General Secretary, Diego Conesa.
Jose Velez resigned as Mayor of Calasparra in 2019 to take up the post of Government Delegate.
Sources in the PSOE claim Velez may be the only candidate.
