All payments for licences to circulate (permisos de circulación); driving licences and road traffic offences must be paid by credit card, through the Internet or at designated banks from June 10.
The move, which follows a pilot scheme in Oviedo, Gijón, Zamora, Cádiz, puts an end of all cash payments at the Director General of Traffic offices.
Currently 12% of payments to the DGT are made in cash.
