Another dog has died after being found, with symptoms of being poisoned in a spot near Tierra del Sol, which is a favourite with dog walkers, both English and Spanish.
The dog was found by a member of the Dogs Rescue Association but unfortunately died before she could get to a vets.
This brings the total of suspected pet poisonings near the urbanization to eight. At least one of these incidents has been reported to Seprona, the animal protection arm of the Guardia Civil.
Dog owners are reported to be nervous about using the area to walk their pets and are concerned that Spanish residents may be unaware of the problem, which could lead to more incidents of pet poisonings or worse, a child.
Residents have contacted the Head of the Technical Services at the Town Hall and Aqualia in an attempt to resolve the matter but, as the problem continues without resolution, will now seek an urgent meeting with the Mayor.
