Over Easter Week all the regional perimeters will be closed, there will be a national curfew of 10pm to 6am, mass events will be prohibited and reunions restricted to four people.
These are the principal measures agreed by central and regional governments in Spain in an effort to avoid the fourth wave of Covid-19.
The decision was taken by the Commission for Public Health, in consultation with all the regional governments, and although it still has to be ratified by the Ministry of Public Health, it will almost certainly come into effect for the period, March 28 to March 4. On March 4 all regions will revert to the precautionary measures imposed by their regional governments.
The order also advises against parties in private homes or other enclosed spaces, unless the people live together.
There will also be a national campaign. “We Can´t Save Easter Week but We Can Save Lives,” which aims to warn the population against dropping their guard in respect of the virus.
Regions are also advised not to lower their level of risk for the virus in the two weeks before Easter Week and to continue to limit mobility and contacts, even though statistics of contagions are favourable. Mobility should be restricted to journeys that are absolutely necessary and regional perimeters, which are currently closed, should remain closed.
Reunions in private or public should be limited to four people, outside or inside, and the curfew should remain from 10am to 6pm.
Editors Note:At the moment in Calasparra these restrictions on reunions only allow two people who are not from the same household, to meet inside bars and restaurants and four outside on terraces.
