Thieves who stole 11,000 metres of copper cable from a photovoltaic plant in Calasparra have been arrested by the Guardia Civil.
The Guardia Civil has arrested three people linked to a criminal group that stole around 45 kilometres of copper cable from various photovoltaic plants all over Spain, including Calasparra.
The criminals, based in Cuenca, travelled 500 kilometres in a van with a foreign licence plate to commit the thefts and rapidly sell the stolen material. In total it is estimated that the damage caused exceeds 100,000 euros.
