Today the law in Spain has changed to allow customers with landlines to change their telephone company, and retain their orIginal phone number, in 24 hours.
Before today landline companies could take up to five days to facilitate the changeover.
The law changed in 2012 for mobile phone users who wanted to change companies reducing the changeover period to 24 hours.
The law for landline companies has been delayed because Orange had technical difficulties implementing the change. The company has been fined 8,000 euros a day since July 10 for the delay.
