Probably the most important local cooperative, the Cooperative of the Campo Virgen de la Esperanza, has joined with the local Department of Culture, to sponsor educational events in schools to mark the International Year of the Cooperative.
The rice cooperative, which celebrates its own fiftieth anniversary this year, aims to raise awareness amongst school children and encourage “working in association.”
Activities will begin this week with theatre and story telling. Each day there will be music, dancing, actors and narrators.
