The royal family of Spain visited Caravaca today, as part of the town´s Jubilee celebrations, during which the President of DOP Arroz Calasparra, Jose Martinez, had a brief audience with the King of Spain.
The invitation of the royal household to the President of DOP Calasparra follows King Felipe VI accepting the Honorary Presidency of the DOP Board of Control next year for the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Denomination of Origin of Calasparra rice.
The meeting took place in the Mayor of Caravaca´s office during which José Martínez personally invited the royal couple to visit Calasparra and the famous rice fields on the 40th anniverary of the DOP next year.
