The 577 electoral colleges in the Murcia region open at 9am today, Sunday, and close at 8pm on a day of high temperature and sun for 1,118,689 residents to vote in the European Elections.
Unfortunately abstention is expected to be high given a level of apathy over elections and the call of the beach on a sunny weekend.
This is the first time since Brexit that European elections have been held and UK citizens, even those resident, are unable to vote in Spain.
The more than one million voters in the Murcia region join 360 million people in the rest of Europe called to the polls today
Some countries voted yesterday but the results will not be known until all the countries have finished voting. This is likely to be around 11pm tonight.
The extreme right is expected to win a majority of seats in many European countries, althougn in Spain VOX, the far right group, is not as popular. In Spain the PSOE Socialist party and the main opposition party, the Partido Popular, were neck and neck in the latest polls.
