The products of Calasparra formed part of the national shop window of food products from all over Spain in the Salon Gourmets Exhibition 2024 in Madrid this month.
Among the most exclusive national tendencies those from Calasparra included the Vino Villavieja, the prize winning goat’s milk cheese from Tio Resti and, of course, Calasparra rice.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, and the Technical Director of the Regulated Committee, Sergio Lopez, joined chef, Firo Vazquez, winner of the National Hostelry Prize, to present the products from Calasparra.
Teresa Garcia, in her presentation, thanked the Ministry of Agriculture supporting the rice industry in Calasparra, which created employment and wealth for the area as well as maintaining tradition and cultural patrimony.
