The voluntary association, ‘Calasparra se Mueve’ has presented a cheque for 16,000 euros to the Unidad de Investigación Oncológica del Hospital General Universitario Morales Meseguer (Oncology Unit).
Juana Moya, the President of the association, presented the cheque to Francisco Ayala de la Peña, Head of the Medical Oncology section at the University Morales Meseguer Hospital of Murcia.
The funds are the result of fund raising activitites during 2022 organised by the association and supported by Calasparra Town Hall and the residents of Calasparra.
Francisco Ayala de la Peña said the money raised would fund various lines of investigation into cancer and thanked the association and Calasparra for their «extraordinary comitment and dedicationon year after year.»
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, present during the preentsation, with Cllrs Antonio Merino, Cristina Ruiz, Juan José López and Juan Bernal, reaffirmed the commitment of the Town Hall to support such initiatives.
