CALASPARRA NEEDS MORE MUNICIPAL PLACES IN OAPS RESIDENCE

The Instituto Murciano de Acción Social (Murcian Institute of Social Action) (IMAS) has funded 53 places in the Esperanza Old People´s Resdients for the local community at a cost of 738.385 euros .
This means more than half the 83 places available at the centre, run by Personalia, a company which forms part of the Fundación ONCE, are available for local residentds.
The Director General of IMAS, Enrique Pérez, visited the residence this week accompanied by the Head of the local Social Services Department, Antonio Moreno, The Director General of thee regional SS department, Pablo Martín, and the director of the centre, Ana Helena Zapata.
The contract for the maintenance of the centre for the coming year is 700,00 euros.
Antonio Moreno took the opportunity to ask for more places for elderly local residents “at risk” in the commmunity due to cuts in the social services budget.
