The local Ornithological Association has raised 2,000 euros for AFACMUR, the Association for families of children with cancer in Murcia, to fund a children´s park at the “Virgen de la Arrixaca” hospital in Murcia.
The money was raised from fees for the First Competition, which was held on Sunday March 4.
According to the Secretary of the Ornithological Association (AOC), José Ramón Sánchez, this was the first time in 26 years a competition had been organised to fund raise for charity.
Some 323 birds and 200 owners took part in the event.
The President of the AOC, Antonio Pérez Molina, presented the cheque to the treasurer of AFACMUR, Antonio Pelegrín.
