Although, the temperatures have not dropped in the Murcia region as Autumn takes hold the regional Health Service reports a sharp increase in Covid and Flu cases.
Despite the early vaccination campaign, which is currently underway, Emergency Departments and Medical Centres in the region are reporting a 28% increase in respiratory infections compared to the previous week.
Cases per 100,000 head of population have increased from 597 to 763 in only seven days.
Flu appears to be particularly virulent with 18 cases counted in one week and 71 cases in the next.
