AT LEAST 70 DEAD IN THE VALENCIA PROVINCE

Calasparra Town Hall called a minute´s silence at 1pm in the Plaza de la Corredera this morning in memory of those who died in the floods in the Albacete province and the Valencia province yesterday, and offered their support to families and friends of those who are missing and to those who have lost their homes.
Here at Nexonr our hearts go out to the people of Valencia and nearby Letur, engulfed by floodwaters yesterday due to the DANA.
Some 70 deaths have already been confirmed in Valencia, although some areas are still cut off and emergency services are unable to reach them, The death toll in Letur has reached five.
Dozens of people in Valencia spent the night on the roof of their cars and lorries; on the roof of shops or petrol station; or trapped in their vehicles in traffic jams waiting to be rescued.
Some 140,000 people are without electricity.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has relatives and/or friends affected by this devastating disaster and with the victims and their families.
Valencia province is virtually cut off by rail and road, most rescues are being carried out by helicopter.
Readers are advised not to try and travel to the area as most roads are blocked including the A7.
The storms have now moved to Cataluña, Aragón and the West of Andalucía, where Cádiz has a Red Warning for flooding.
