The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, through the State Society of Agricultural Infrastructures, (SEIASA), signed the agreement with the Comunidad de Regantes de la Aguas de Argos in Madrid on Wednesday.
This agreement gives the green light to the 13 million euro project, 70% financed by EU FEDER funds, to install a pressurised drop irrigation system here in Calasparra.
There have been 14 similar systems installed in the region of Murcia at a cost of 116.970.869 million euros which has affected 68.560 hectares of land and 26.993 landowners and farmers.
