Calasparra Town Hall organized a guided visit to the 17th century Rice Mill at the Finca del Sorto, that has been opened to such occasions thanks to a collaboration agreement with the owner of this historic property.
The visit formed part of the Gastronomic Days of Calasparra Rice, «CALARROZ 2023», and gave the participants the opportunity to know more about the history, culture and artesan tradition of the elaboration of Calasparra rice.
The Municipal Archeologist, Mari Carmen Melgarejo, was the guide to this marvellous industrial site in Calasparra with the principal objective of communicating and highlighting the importance of the culture of the rice and the complex techniques used over various eras.
