Following a successful pilot scheme in Malaga, Alicante and Madrid, a new app using an icon to report crimes to the police has been launched in other regions, including Murcia, from today, Monday.
The app. “alertcops,” which can be uploaded free of charge, is currently only available in Android (Play Store) and iOS (App Store) but there are plans to develop the system for other networks.
Once installed the user can send an “alert” to the police by selecting the appropriate icon. Once the identiy of the caller and their location has been confirmed the alert will be sent to the National police or the Guardi Civil.
