EU CITIZENS CAN VOTE IN LOCAL ELECTIONS NEXT MAY

A total of 840.195 citizens of the European Union living in Spain will be able to vote in the local elections next May:
Some 12,615 EU voters have already registered in the region of Murcia but this figure could increase as the National Statistics Institute has written to a further 8,,650 European residents.
The elections will be held on May 24.
EU citizens with a “padrón” are entitled to vote and have up until December 30 to register their intention to vote if they have not already done so.
To check your right to vote you can contact the Census Electoral Office, go to your local Town Hall or call 901 101 900. If you receive a notification you must complete the form, sign the declaration and return it to the
Delegación Provincial del Censo. This can also be done over the Internet (https://sede.ine.gob.es).
If you have voted in previous elections and continue to live in Spain your right to vote is maintained without completing a new declaration.
