The National Agency Commission (CNE) is looking into the so called “Monday effect” when petrol stations reputedly lower prices at the pumps and increAse them again the next day.
The Commission is attempting to identify the reason for the “Monday effect” and is trying to identify the petrol stations concerned.
According to the report some petrol prices were lower on 70% of Mondays during 2012 than on the previous Sunday by up to three cents a litre.
The Commission has opened discipinary proceedings against opperators who they consider are “manipulating the market.”
