Calasparra lost the second leg of the Semi Final for promotion away to EF Agar (3-2) in extra time yesterday.
GH Seguridad Ciudad de Calasparra failed to reach the play off final and their promotion hopes were dashed. However, our local team fought to the end with determination and grit.
The first action of the first half came in the 23rd minutes when the Calasparra goalie, Tobias, saved a penalty by Agar and kept the teamś hopes alive.
Before half time Agar scored (1-0) but a few minutes later Tobias made another brilliant robbing Agar of their second goal.
In the 47th minute a equalizing goal by Falcon (1-1) and hopes were high as in the 58th minute Noa scored another goal to put Calasparra in the lead (1-2).
Both Algar and Calasparra had a player sent off during extra time but Algar put a goal away to even the score (2-2) and then it was game over for Calasparra when Algar scored in the 97th minute (3-2).
Calasparra’s prospects of promotion waned as they struggled to find the goal with just 10 men on the pitch.
Finally the victory went to Algar but it was a hard-fought match and Calasparra never gave up until the final whistle.
