Various wildfires broke out in the Murcian countryside (monte) yesterday, Monday, caused by lightening strikeS.
The fires, in Cieza, Abaran, Caravaca and Moratall were declared extinguished by the Emergency Services on Monday night.
One of the three helicopters normally available to support fire fighters had been relocated to Extramadura to aid fire fighters in the province but Castilla de Mancha were able to provide a substitute.
The fires, in the Sierra de Almorchon, Cieza and La Herrada were attended by five Forestry Brigades who controlled the blaze.
The fire in Caravaca, declared at around 8pm on the border with Moratalla affected the Sierra del Puerto and was attended by fire fighters, forestry brigades and a helicopter from Albacete. It was declared extinguished by midnight.
