A fire in Las Tejeras area of Valentin yesterday reminds us that the North West region of Murcia, that includes Calasparra, is on High Alert for the risk of fire.
Fire Services attended the scene yesterday and extinguished the fire.
No personal or material damage was reported.
The Guardia Civil have also issued a reminder to owners of land and gardens that they are responsible to maintain these areas in order to avoid fires. Keeping the grass and weeds cut and avoiding leaving prunings lying around among the trees are two important measures to low the risk of fire.
Bonfires are prohibited from June 1 to October.
