The extraordinary meeting of the Town Hall committee yesterday at midday approved applying to central government in order to benefit from the special line of credit being extended to local authorities to enable them to pay off debts to local businesses and service providers.
The credit will be extended to the Town Hall if the “economy plan” submitted to central government is accepted. The details of the local plan are yet to be made public but the salaries of public employees are likely to reduced and local taxes increased.
