Calasparra Town Hall has announced the programme to comemmorate International Women´s Day on March 8.
The programme began last Saturday with the Masterclass in Self Defence for Women, which was held on Saturday morning in the Municipal Sports Pavillion.
During the week of March 8 there will be special programmes every morning on Radio Calasparraa under the title «Extraordinary Women».
Also throughout the week special Equality Workshops will be held in all local schools.
Pupils from the IES Emilio Perez Piñero High School will present an original work, «Feminist Voices», at the Municipal Auditorium on March 7 at 7pm. Entrance free of charge.
On March 8 International Women´s Day will be marked in the Plaza de la Corredera with the participation of all local school children. A manifesto will be read and there will be a «Wall of Equality».
In the evening on March 8 there will be a Tribute to the Calasparrian Woman in the OAPs Club at 8pm.
At 8.30pm on March 8 local author, Fulgencio Caballero Martínez, will present the book «Women Pioneers» in the Exhibition Space in Calle Mayor.
On March 17 there will be theatre in Calasparra with «Mujer Córrase» (Woman Come) directed by Aitor Basauri at the Municipal Auditorium at 7pm.
