All mountain tracks and paths in the Murcia region have been closed to people and vehicles until July 27 due to the extremely high risk of fire in the area.
The Department of Water, Agriculture, Stock breeding, Fish and the Environment has announced this measure to ban all transit and close the entrances to forest tracks that cross the «public monte» («monte» means all hills, mountains etc) in almost all the region due to the high temperatures predicted over the next few days.
The closure began yesterday, at midnight July 22, and continues until at 8am on July 27 .
The only access permitted is for those who own properties, houses or forests in the public «monte».
The areas will be controlled by environmental officers, other authorities and public employes to ensure the public respects this measure.
