A manifesto to mark International Women´s Day was read during the event, Boulevard Rosales, on Sunday.
In the manifesto women demanded their rights “every day of the year” and demanded that male violence and domestic violence should be a question for the State.
Women suffer violence daily in every ambit and Society should denounce it. “We want to move freely for every space, public or private, and at any hour and we denounce the patriarchal justice system which does not consider us as people with full human rights,” continued the manifesto.
During the market purple flowers were handed out by councilors and members of the Town Hall as a sign of solidarity with International Women s’ Day.
During the Open Mike session the Gypsy Foundation claimed the rights of women to be treated as equals and denounced discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnicity.
